Manga Scans: Mazoku Hamel and Vocal Cometh



Of course there will be spoilers here. Pictures that I felt were particularly big spoilers for the series have this "* " in front of them. If you've looked at the fanart though, you are probably aware of most of the major plot points up to volume 33 or so.


Volume 15

 Summery: This Volume is a key volume. Being so, you need to highlight this area to reveal the text Hamel, Raiel, Sizer and Oboe stay for a dance as the town tries to make amends for hanging Hamel. However, Orgel appears and by reviving the Spirits of those Hamel killed in Anthem, he drives Hamel to his mazoku state. No as Mazoku as we've ever seen him, Hamel beings to tear the place apart, showing his loved one no mercy. Trom and Flute, having decided to rejoin Hamel's part enter into this scene. Hamel sees Flute tried to rip his Mazoku parts off rather than having her see them. They begin to reconnect, but then villagers shoot Hamel full of arrows. Enraged, he lashes out, driving his hand through Flute's chest. Orgel cackles triumphantly, but it is short lived. Oboe realizes that Orgel is actually the mask, and Orgel must flee or risk death at the hands of Hamel's enraged part. The attention then returns to Hamel and Flute. Flute looks lost to them, but then Horn and Clari appear. Horn uses her precious healing magic to save the life of her daughter. And so, that's the summery.

Volume 16

Summery: Flute awakens to find herself surrounded by those who care for her. Hamel, trying to appear nonchalant, presents Flute with a gift. He has remade the doll he bought for her at great cost to his own fingers. There are some pretty great comedic moments here, as well as some very touching ones.
Then we move to Hameln. Bass, displeased with Orgel's failure, is killing him. However, Guitar steps in, and offers a new thought. They should release Vocal, the Sinner. This is a mazoku who rebelled against Chestra, lost, and has been locked away for the last 500 years. Bass agrees with Guitar, and Vocal is released. His first act is to try and kill Bass, but we find Bass has placed a seal on most of Vocal's powers preventing him from hurting Bass, and in effect, collaring him.
The rest of the volume is occupied by a very sweet date between Flute and Hamel. However, during the course of the date, Hamel's hat is knocked off. Villagers begin to deride him, but one little girl stands up for him, and gives him flowers.
